‘The Torah said by the Admor Shalita in Karlsbad on Shabbas Chazon after pleas by the Rav of Lublin’, manuscript written by an important Chassid, from the Torah of the holy Rav Rabbi Yisroel of Chortkov.

Part of this Torah was published, being attributed by mistake to the holy Rav the Ahavas Yisroel of Vizhnitz. This manuscript, however, is obviously by the holy Rav of Chortkov.

The handwritten leaf contains ‘The Torah said by the Admor Shalita in Karlsbad. According to the manuscript, the Rav of Lublin came especially from Marienbad to the Admor Shalita, pleading with him to deliver some Divrei Torah.

The version of the manuscript, and especially the description of the ‘trip’ of the holy Rav Rabbi Meir Shapiro to Karlsbad clearly indicate that this Divrei Torah were said by the holy Rav of Chortkov and were attributed by mistake to the Ahavas Yisroel of Vizhnitz.

The Divrei Torah begin with the words ‘פתח ואמר’ and their content is the month of Menachem Av and the month of Tishrei.
