Remnant of a generation of scholars! Large manuscript of responses with many halachic responses handwritten by the holy Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Rubin, responses to questions he was asked in 1870.

The manuscript contains [20] large leaves, written on both sides, a total of [40] pp handwritten by him. They include responses from Siman 124 to 141. Responses he had sent to the Geonim of his time. The holy Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Rubin used to copy all his responses and from the copy authored his great book Shem Olam.

In almost all responses, Rabbi Shmuel Rubin notes the date they were written and his residence in Kortshin.

The responses from Siman 124-141 were handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Aharon rabim, the Rav of Kretshin, and at their end he wrote: "אברך את ה’ אשר היה בעוזרי להשלים קונטרס הלז חלק התשובות וכן יאיר ה’ עיני במאור תורתו וכאשר הראני חסדו עד כעת יוסף שורת ידו לאמץ חילי יראיני נפלאות בתורתו עשה יעשה ה" עמנ"ו או"ת לטוב"ה לפ"ק (תר"ל) קטינא דבי רבנן עמוס מתלאות מרובין שמואל אהרן ראבין".

The holy Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Rubin [1824-1877] one of the greatest Poskim of Galicia and Rav of Kortshin. Was born to his father Rabbi Zvi Elazar, a Dayan in Krakow. Was a disciple of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz, who said of him that he was perfect in Torah and Yirah. Was chosen to edit the Shut Divrei Chaim authored by his Rav Maran of Sanz. Corresponded with Gedolei Hador and the Geonim of Galicia, the Sho’el UMeshiv and Rabbi Shlomo Kluger. Served as Rav of Kortshin and Zabrov. Authored many important books including Beit Aharon, Zerah Yishai, Chumash Hagiborim, Rashei Besamim and more.

The leaves of the manuscript were bound with tape yet many of the leaves are detached. Wear and tears, slightly affecting the text of some leaves.
