A peek into the efforts of the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Zvi Kamai for Tinokos shel Beis Raban in Lithuania and the obstacles Rashei Yeshivas and rabbis had to overcome due to the Polish law that required certain degrees and conditions from teachers and school principals.

The Gaon Rabbi Avraham Zvi Kamai signed: ‘אברהם צבי הירש קאמאי’.

The great Gaon Rabbi Avraham Zvi Kamai asks to hire a Hebrew teacher to replace Rabbi Aharonson who was resigning and a teacher to teach Polish who could also run the school, apparently, as required by law or because the need had arose. He also asks that these teachers by ‘wise people to get their students’ attention and of discipline’. He also asks what they might ask for six hours. He also asks whether the new Polish law pertaining to the conditions required from teachers of religious studies has come into force. The letter is signed also by Stein Yaakov, one of the secretaries of the committe of the Chorev movement.
