Short letter in Yiddish by the Gaon Rabbi Zvi Yechezkel Michelsohn of Warsaw asking for the books of the great Gaon Rabbi Akiva Yosef Schlesinger, the author of Lev HaIvri.

In the letter, which was addressed to "my pedigreed step-aunt" on the margins of a lengthy letter, he asks to send her his regards and then asks that she bring him a new calendar for 1900-1901 and to send him the new books by the Gaon Rabbi Akiva Yosef of Hungary who now lives in Jerusalem, except for his book Lev HaIvri, which he already owns.

The Gaon Rabbi Zvi Yechezkel Michelsohn [1863-1942] the Rav of Plonsk, a member of the committee of the rabbis of Warsaw and one of Gedolei Hador who approbated many books, being accepted and revered by his contemporaries. Authored 43 books that were printed and many more that were not.

[1] short, small leaf that was cut from a postcard as indicated by its verso. Very good condition.
