Set of Mishneh Torah LehaRambam, four volumes, Furth 1865-1867 edition. The personal copy of the Tzaddik the holy Gaon Rabbi Yechiel Meir of Gustinin ‘Der Gutter Yud’. 


On the title page of the first volume, the handwritten signature of the holy Rav , ‘This Sefer belongs to me, the young Yechiel Meir Lifshitz the son of the late Yaakov Zvi’.

In addition, his two personal stamps in Hebrew (two different stamps) and his stamp in a foreign language at the end of the Sefer. 

Considerable signs of study and use, wax that dripped of the leaves and varied stains of use. 

This volume is in a significantly better condition than the other volumes. 

Varied ownership notations: Sander Landau Lodz, Yehuda Leib … Moonshine…

The holy Gaon Rabbi Yechiel Meir of Gustinin [passed away in 1888]  one of the Tzaddikim of Poland, the disciple of the holy Gaon of Kutna, Rabbi Bonem of Pshischa and Rabbi Menachem Mendel the Saraf of Kock. Later he became the disciple of Rabbi Avraham of Tchechnov and after his passing, started receiving Kvitels and opened his court.

Was admired and praised by the Tzaddikim of his generation, being known as ‘Der Tehillim Yud’ and ‘The Gutter Yud’. 

Impressive set of four volumes. Sections I, IV: Chaim ben Zvi Hirsch Press. Section II-III: Isaac Ben Yehuda Leib Buchbinder Press. Furth, [1765-1767]. 

4 volumes with the four sections. pagination varies. 40 cm. 

Considerable moth perforations blemishing the margins of the text. Wear. Late, semi-leather bindings. Good condition.
