A wonderous letter, handwritten and signed with his holy signature, in which the holy Gaon author of ‘Eish Das’ of Ozharov (Ożarów) prophesies that the German oppressor YM”Sh will not have control over the Holy Land, Tammuz 5702 (1942).

In the midst of the days of anxiety and fear in the Holy Land, when the Nazis approached the shores of Alexandria, and the Jewish community in the Land of Israel was in grave fear that they would enter it and occupy it, Rabbi Moshe Yechiel Epstein of Ozharov wrote a wonderous and special letter, mostly regarding matters of charity and kindness and delivery of charity funds from New York to the Holy Land, and at its end clear and prophetic lines proclaiming that the Rebbe of Ozharov has no apprehension or fear and it is clear that the Hitlerite Germans will not have any control over the Holy Land.

Nothing of the Rebbe’s words failed to happen, and the Nazis suffered a surprising and resounding defeat in the famous battle of ‘El Alamein’. From there, their collapse began to expand to all the occupied countries until their final defeat in 1945.

The letter, which spreads over a fairly large sheet of paper and is written on both sides, was sent to the Kabbalist, the Tzaddik Rabbi Moshe Yair Weinstock of Jerusalem, the grandson of Rabbi Duvid’l Biederman of Lelov, and in it describes in detail the shipment of charity monies that the Rebbe of Ozharov collected and gathered from the charitable in New York, in the Bronx, where he lived, and the surrounding area.

The Rebbe writes and mentions the Diskin Orphanage, the Rebbe of Rachov, Heichal HaTalmud in Tel Aviv, Heichal HaTorah, the Kolel Chazon Ish which was called ‘Yeshivat Bachurim headed by Rabbi Heilperin’, Mesivta Torah VaChesed, Yeshiva Sefas Emes, Chayei Olam, Eitz Chaim, Shaari Chesed, Yeshiva Novhardok, Yeshiva Shevet Sofer, Yeshiva Beit Yosef Zvi under the presidentship of Maharitz Dushinsy, the Association of Immigrant Rabbis, Yeshivas Chevron, and basically all the Torah and Chesed institutions in Jerusalem and even in other cities.

The scope of the Rebbe’s charity and kindness is enormous and astounding.

On the second page of the letter, the Rebbe writes clearly about the situation in the Holy Land,
‘My confidence is strong that the hater will have a downfall and will not come close to the Holy Land and there is no doubt that our salvation is near to come.’
In the margins of the letter, the Rebbe writes his name and his mother’s name and the names of all his family members and their mother’s name, so the Kabbalistic Tzaddik Rabbi Moshe Yair Weinstock would pray for them.
