The certificate confirms the exalted student Mordechai Mandelbaum of Zamushtz – Zamstadt is a student of the Yeshiva, and is signed by the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Eiger, the Rebbe of Lublin, who was the chairman of the spiritual administration at the time.
After the passing of the Gaon Rabbi Meir Shapiro of Lublin, a Spiritual Governance Committee was established, which served as a sort of expanded spiritual leadership. At its leadership stood the Gaon the "Eretz Tzvi" of Kozhyglov, the Holy Rabbi Moshe of Boyan-Krakow, and others.
Among the leaders of the yeshiva was
The Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Eiger of Lublin (1870-1940), a scion of the Tzaddikim of the house of Lublin, son of the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Eiger, author of "Imrei Emes" and grandson of the Gaon Rabbi Leibeli Eiger, head of the dynasty. Rabbi Shlomo owned one of the most extensive libraries of Seforim in all of Poland, and he served as one of the Roshei Yeshiva in Lublin. Although he had a small amount of Chassidim, the admiration he received came from across all camps in Poland and even extended beyond its borders. He passed away at the beginning of WWII, and was laid to rest in a well-attended funeral as the war raged on.
