The Rambam’s Mishneh Torah – Venice 1574-1575– First edition with the Kesef Mishne – Printed in the author, Maran the Beit Yosef’s lifetime – Four volumes – Complete set with elegant leather binding – Signatures, glosses, and notes.


The first three volumes were printed in 1574, in the Beit Yosef’s lifetime, and on their title page he is mentioned with the blessing of ‘may his light shine’. Printing of the fourth volume was completed on “Wednesday, the 29th of Marcheshvan, 366 small count [Nov. 2, 1575]” (based on the end of the proofreader’s notes printed at the end), and there, at the end of the volume, is mentioned
“the taking of the Ark of G-D, the magnificent Rabbi that is our teacher Rabbi Yosef Karo obm, who was called before the heavenly court on Thursday, the 13th of Nissan 335 (March 24th 1575), and was brought to eternal rest.”

• Vol. I, Mada-Zemanim: [22] 316pp. 33cm. overall good condition. First and last pages restored. Stains. New leather binding with buckles.
On the title page of this volume says: “Belongs to the renowned Rabbi … son-in-law R’ Meir Berlin Gishachkin” [?]. This volume contains several handwritten glosses.

• Vol. II, Nashim-Kedusha: [10], 219pp. (should be 218). 29cm. Good – fair condition. Moisture stains. Some pages restored.
On this volume’s title page is written: “I Uri, son of Yehoshua Naftali obm”. In Yemenite script: “The young, Shalom Avraham Shalom of the house of Levi.”

• Vol. III, Hafla’ah-Tahara [20] 451, [1] pp. 29cm. Overall good condition. Some of the first and last pages restored. On the title page and end page signatures and Yemenite writings.

• Vol. IV, Nezikin-Shoftim: [10], 297, [9] pp. 29cm. Good condition. Stamp on title page: “Moshe Efrayim son of the Gaon the teacher R”Sh obm.”
