Chassidic Tzaddikim praised the Sefer and its author.

The book Yessod Yosef and the Sefer Likutei Yosef was edited by the Chassid Rav Rabbi Yosef Yoska Halevi, one of the greatest disciples of the Maggid of Mezeritch and Rabbi Michl of Zlotchov. He followed in the footsteps of the Maggid of Mezeritch as the Maggid of Rubno.

In his approbation to this first edition of the book, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev wrote: "The piety and Torah greatness of the gaon Rav the sharp Chassid … Yosef is common knowledge: his residence was in Rubno and he was Oved Hashem since his youth and did not depart from the tent of the Torah ויהי ה’ את יוסף ויהי איש מצליח כי חפץ ה’ בידו …’
All the other Chassidic Tzaddikim who approbated the book also praise it and its author as well as the Rav of Valtshisk Rabbi Aryeh Leib.
