A page in the handwriting of the holy Tzaddik, the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Kaduri, the elder Mekubal, on which he wrote his details and the names of his children. Circa 1950

‘I am a refugee from the Old City and all my possessions have gone and I have not received any compensation’ ‘We are new immigrants, a father, a mother, and more’.

The holy Mekubal Rabbi Yitzchak Kaduri, who later became the elder of the Mekubalim, who was sought by multitudes, writes in a few words about his hardships and the many transitions he had to go through, moving his dwelling from one place to another.

Even at the time of this registration, his last and current address at the time of writing is not clear.
Thus we find him wandering from Pardes Chana to the old Beit Israel neighborhood and from there to Bezalel Mizrachi St. in the Beit Israel neighborhood.

As is known, he finally established his home in the Bucharian neighborhood and later founded there the large Kabbalistic yeshiva ‘Nachlat Yitzchak’.

His son, Rabbi David, who is mentioned in the document before us, also continued in his path and taught Torah in the yeshiva for several years after his father’s passing, until his own passing.

The Tzaddik Rabbi Kaduri writes that he is studying at Yeshiva Shoshanim LeDavid and at Porat Yosef. In these yeshivas he studied the revealed Torah as well as the hidden Kabbalah from the Tzaddik, the Mekubal Rabbi Ephraim HaCohen, the father of Chacham Shalom HaCohen.

It is important to note that the date of birth written in the document, 1903, is not at all recognized as one of the possibilities for the birth year of the Tzaddik Rabbi Kaduri. As far as is known, he was born as early as 1899, but here the record is from the year 1903.
