Colored charity receipt on behalf of the "Chevra Kadisha Gomlei Chasadim" (burial society), hand illuminated, signed by the Gaon Rabbi Binyamin Ze’ev Wolf Chayut, Av Beit Din of Warfalata, disciple of the Chatam Sofer – Warfalata, 1st day of Rosh Chodesh Adar 5582 (Feb. 21, 1882).

The page is decorated with two adorned columns, vases and bouquets, in colorful ink.

The Gaon Rabbi Binyamin Ze’ev Wolf Chayut (1768[?]- 1847, [The Chatam Sofer and his generation, pp. 91-92])Binyamin Ze’ev Wolf Chayut, was a disciple of the Chatam Sofer. Was appointed in 1810 as Av Beit Din of Warfalata. A few responsa sent to him appear in Responsa Chatam Sofer. The Chatam Sofer writes to him in one of his responses (Orach Chaim §32) "My student who is beloved as a son… the extraordinary."
