‘Matzah Tash’ – Embroidered cover for Matzos, Hungary, late 1800s.
Square cover for the 3 Matzos for Pesach night, separated into sections for three Matzos, as is customary – Kohen, Levy, and Yisrael. Bordered on all sides with fringes of gold cloth, and embroidered with the blessing of ‘Al Achilat Matzah’.
Embroidered on quality cloth, in crimson, light red, and two shades of green, artistic and elegant.
Some letters have unraveled. Stains due to age and wine from the Seder. Some moisture in the background. Fair condition.
