Special letter from the righteous Rebbetzin, Mrs. Sarah Steiner – the holy spouse of the Tzaddik and wonder-maker Rabbi Yeshaye’le of Kerstir, with a description of the Rebbetzin’s tremendous preparations for Shabbos.

A unique memento from Reb Yeshayele’s kitchen!

The letter was sent to her close family members, Reb Dovid and is righteous wife, and in it the Rebbetzin Sarah, holy spouse of the holy Reb Yeshaye’le of Kerstir writes that she had mentioned their names by the Yahrtzeit of the Tzaddik – i.e., the Yahrtzeit of the holy Tzaddik Reb Yeshaye’le himself.

Further in the letter, one of the Rebbetzin’s sons writes that she is extremely exhausted due to her tremendous toils in honor of Shabbos Kodesh, as her incredible efforts, together with those of her holy world-famous holy miracle-working husband are well-known.

My dear, sweet nephews, Rabbi Dovid, may he live and his beloved wife, may she live, and your sweet children, may they live, that you and she have Yiddishe Nachas till a hundred and twenty.
I mentioned you on the Yahrtzeit of the righteous Rabbi, may his merit protect us – and I inquire after your wellbeing… and I beseech for you always for long life.
Sarah Steiner, daughter of Marim Chana.

Postscript (in a different handwriting)
The Mother, may she live, is very tired and exhausted and also from the preparations for Shabbos Kodesh, therefore she didn’t have the time to write more. She inquires after the wellbeing of your beloved sister, aunt Tziprah, may she merit long and good days, and also Reb Aharon and his wife, may she live, and all members of his household, and please also send loving regards in my name.

The righteous Rebbetzin, Mrs. Sarah, the pure spouse of the famous and holy miracle of the generation, Reb Yeshaye’le of Kerstir, was his second wife, marrying him during the last years of his life. She stood by him and his endeavors during his lifetime, preparing food and opening the doors of their home to the thousands of hungry and thirsty multitudes that flocked to shelter in his shadow.
After his passing, she devoted even more energy on behalf of the numerous guests and chassidim. She remained living in Bodrogkeresztúr and would pour out her heart at the gravesite of the holy Tzaddik, and many saw salvation through her prayers which she poured out on behalf of the Jewish nation. Many would send her Kvittlech to be mentioned at the holy gravesite.
