The holy Gaon Rabbi Asher Anshel Jungreis Rav and Av Beis Din of Tshenger (Csenger), [1806-1874], the son of the holy Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Av Beis Din of Csécse, an admired and revered wonder-worker. Used amulets and Segulos for medicinal purposes as well as his geat wisdom. Author of the Menuchas Asher Shut. Many of the notable Rabbis of Hungary were his descendants. It is told that during a gathering of Hungarian rabbis before the World War, the grandsons of the Rav of Tshenger was requested to stand up. 80 out of 150 participants stood up, being grandsons of the revered Gaon author of the Menuchas Asher. Most of the family and his descendant perished in the Holocaust, but his holy and venerable memory continues to pulsate tremors of holiness amongst the world of Torah and Chassidus. His holy Sefer ‘Menuchas Asher’ was accepted with reverence by great righteous scholars and by the public in general.
