Sefer Amudei Shesh, Sermons and Mussar by the author of ‘Kli Yakar’ – Prague 1618 – first edition printed in the lifetime of the author – from the vaults of Admor Rabbi Yaakov Halberstam of Tchakawa.


Stamping on the title page and other pages: “Yaakov Halberstam Av Beit Din of Tchakawa”.

Admor Rabbi Yaakov Halberstam (1902-1967, per Chassidic Encyclopedia Vol II pg. 234) was the son of the holy Rebbe, Rabbi Sinai of Zhmigrad. In 1923 he emigrated to the Holy Land and settled in Jerusalem, where he established his synagogue, and was the first and only scion of Sanz to settle there. At the break of WWII he travelled to the US, where he assisted refugees greatly. His famous sons were the famous Gaon, Rabbi Moshe Halberstam, author of responsa ‘Divrey Moshe’ and member of the Beit Din of the Eidah Charedis, Admor Rabbi Naftali of Jerusalem, and Admor Rabbi Meir of Bnei Berak.

Ancient inscription on the title page: All the letters of Aleph- Beis in reverse (Tashrak), and after them “On this table meat and fish will be eaten and all other delicacies”.
