Beit Meir on Shulchan Aruch Even HaEzer. Published in the author’s lifetime. Chaya Garush Mann Press, Lemberg, 1836. Pedigreed copy with the signatures of the disciples of the Chasam Sofer, Rabbi David Katz Bistritz and Rabbi Moshe Hertzfeld, who added handwritten glosses on the book. 

[1], 132, [1], 18 leaves. 37 cm. Owner’s signatures on the flyleaf “David Katz Prostitz”,   and “Moshe ben Rabbi E. Hertzfeld”. On the title page and flyleaf, signature of “Yosef Halevi Horowitz”. With [17] corrections and glosses by Rabbi Moshe Hertzfeld. 

The Gaon Rabbi David ben Rabbi Kalman Katz Bistritz Av Beis Din of Milchdorf (1813-1862) – Rav, Ram and Av Beis Din of Milchdorf (Mliecno), author of Beit David on Shulchan Aruch Yoreh Deah. Disciple of Maran the Chatam Sofer, who said of him and of his Torah “Deep, deep, who can find it”. See more about him in “The Chatam Sofer and his disciples” pp. 108-110.

The Gaon Rabbi Moshe ben Rabbi Eliezer Leizer Hertzfeld Av Beis Din of Silash (1819-1883) – a disciple of the Chasam Sofer and his son the Ksav Sofer. One of the sages of Pressburg, Rav and Moreh Tzeddek of Toras Chessed of the Serdehli community, author of ‘Divrei Moshe Hashalem’ on the Shas and ‘Torat Moshe Magen Avot’, sermons on the Torah and Sugyot Hashas.
