Personal copy with the handwritten signature of the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak of Gombin, as is written on the second Latin title page: ‘שייך לכבוד הרב אב"ד פרשיסחא ה"ה המאה"ג החריף החסיד המפורסם מו"ה יצחק שפירא מגומבין’, and also with the handwritten signature of :יודא לייב מווארבל חופק"ק גומבין והגליל, author of Sefer Midrash Ketubah.


The Gaon Rabbi [Alexander] Sender Yehuda Leib Margolis Av Beis Din of Gombin and the vicinity. Passed away in 1841. Authored sefer Midrash Ketubah includes Chidushim and elucidations on Tractate Ketubot. Warsaw 1823. Son of the great philanthropist Rav Naftali Herz Segal Margolis of Kalisch, son of the Gaon Rabbi Yissachar, a descendant of the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Luria, the Maharshal. On his mother’s side, he was a grandson of the renowned Gaon of his generation Rabbi Yosef Chaim Av Beis Din and Ram of Kalisch and Kroměříž.

Two title pages, the first in Latin.

[2], 3-92, leaves. Leaf 93 missing. Leaf 91was bound after leaf 92. 17.5 cm.

Moth perforations, aging stains, wear to the edges of the leaves. Good – very good condition
