The manuscript was written when the author was 14 years old!

On the title page is written: "Pamphlet Yismach Av – Innovations of Agadah and also overheard (items), which Hashem graced with in His great mercy and grace, the smallest of my colleagues, the young one, Yitzchak Yehuda son of my father, my teacher Rabbi Avraham Menachem Herman, may my candle light and shine forever, And my mother’s name is Blima may she live – 1898."

In the manuscript before us there are dozens of Chiddushim on Agadah by Hungarian Geonim and Tzaddikim, including descendants of Maran he Chatam Sofer, Rabbi Yehuda Greenwald Av Beit Din of Satmar, and more.

Rabbi Yitzchak Yehuda Herman (1884-1960), the Community Leader of Weitzen, studied in his youth at the yeshiva of Rabbi, the Gaon Rabbi Yeshayahu Zilberstein, Av Beit Din of Weitzen, author of "Ma’asai Lemlech", as well as at the yeshiva of the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Rosenberg Av Beit Din of Unsdorf. After his marriage in 1907, he studied during 1910, in the yeshiva of Gaon Rabbi Yehuda Greenwald, Av Beit Din of Satmar, author of ‘Zichron Yehuda’. Rabbi Yitzchak Yehuda was a man of many talents and many deeds, and was an exceptional scholar. A large compendium of his Chiddushim on the Torah passages was printed in 1912, at the end of the Sefer "Chiddushei Mahari”a" by Mahari”a Asad, as an appendix to the Sefer. His teachers wrote enthusiastic approbations regarding this compendium. The Gr’Y Zilberstein wrote: “The pamphlet ‘Toldos Yitzchak Ben Avraham’, from my honorable student, the Rabbinical, Rabbinical who excels in Torah and reverence, sharp and well-versed, Rabbi Yitzchak Hermann, may his light shine… who has brought up in his net correct and pleasant items in Agadah and learning, which are worthy to be brought at the tables of kings.” Rabbi Shmuel Rosenberg Av Beit Din of Unsdorf writes about him: "My student, the Rabbinical who excels in Torah and reverence, a serrated saw, a sharpened lightning." And the Mahari”tz Dushinsky writes about his Chiddushim: “I have found in them a good taste.” In 1941 he immigrated to the Holy Land and settled in Tel Aviv and was one of the founders of the "Chug Chatam Sofer". Five of his eight children were murdered in the Holocaust, may their blood be avenged.
